PASSING GAS AND EAR SCRATCHING

Hi Doc and your Panel
My 10 and a half month old boy i saw him from yesterday scratching his ear and even this morning and on this long weekend he was passing gas at times i thought he was passing stools.
When he passed stools his poo was dark green almost black with a bit of mustard colour
What could be the problem with him and what can i give him?
I''m at work but my mind is home

The colour of your baby's stools may be due to the iron in his formula. The extra wind he is passing may be due to something in his diet [his solids] or due to a mild form of lactose intolerance. If he is gaining weight normally and progressing well there is no need to change his formula. If he is still scratching his ear it may be a good idea to ask your doctor just to check that your baby does not have an ear infection.
