Overweight daughter

Hi doc, please help.

My daughter is 9 and weighs about 59kgs. I' m at the end of the rope here. I have changed our life style habits and try to give her the correct kind of foods. I try to pack a healthy lunchbox but somedays it comes back just like that. I' m not sure if she eats from her friends at schools lunchboxes? What can i do? Do you think there could be a medical reason for her being so overweight? She don' t eat much but she seems not too loose the weight. She is very active and have sports 4 times a week. Maybe i should take her to a dieatrician...

The average weight for a girl of 9 years is 30kg, so you can immediately see that your daughter's weight is really of great concern. Her weight is almost exactly double the weight one would expect her to be at 9 years. As she is active and you are trying your best to see that she does not overeat or eat the wrong foods she does need to see an expert for advice. Please see a dietician first and if your daughter does not make any progress after 3 months please write to me again.

Help needed, Please don' t tell us you haven' t taken her to the dietician, who are you fooling here(us or you). When your daughter was 30Kg, didn' t you see that there was something wrong, or maybe your daughter was born weighing 20kg? Please take your girl to see professionals.
