Overweight

Grandaughter aged 9 ballooned since tonsils removed age 3

It is a long time since your granddaughter had her tonsils out. Children's appetites do improve after tonsils are removed but this cannot be the explanation for her being overweight at 9 years of age. You have not given me her weight so I cannot determine how severe her weight problem is.If she is indeed overweight she should initially consult a qualified dietician to assist her with dietary advice.
