one eye bigger than other

Hi, i have a few questions! My baby girl is 4 months old.
1. My baby''s one eye is bigger than the other (the smaller eye has a very prominent vein above it).
2. She cries when i pick her up from a lying/sitting position.
3. Her head is very big and she has a lot of veins that show.

These might sound like silly questions, but they are bothering me!
thanks so much

These are certainly not silly questions and I am very pleased that you have asked them.In fact I am also concerned about your baby. She may have a problem called 'hydrocephalus' which is causing her head to be larger than normal and for the veins on her scalp to appear very prominent. As regards her eyes, it is possible that her one eye that appears bigger is in fact normal but her other eye may be smaller than normal, a condition called 'microphthlmos'. I am not sure about the reason why she cries when you pick her up. In any case it is absolutely necessary for you to take your baby to be seen by a paediatrician as soon as possible. You need to have a definite diagnosis of her problems. She may have an inherited condition or may possibly have a condition caused by an infection during your pregnancy especially certain viral infections such as CMV. Please let me know what the paediatrician decides.

thank you. i think i didn''t explain properly. the one eyelid hangs lower than the other, so it looks as if the one eye is smaller. it hangs especially when she drinks.
