Q.

Omega 3 for kids

My son is 5 &  has difficulty concentrating. I' ve been giving him a chewy Omega 3, 6 &  9 supplement for kids, but after taking him for a neurological evaluation this week, I had another look at what ingredients are in it. The terapist recommended he take 3,000mg per day (2,000mg in the morning &  1,000mg at night), but the vits he' s currently taking, contains only 200mg with a maximum dosage of 4 per day. This is way less than he needs. She also uncovered several allergies, including dairy, sugar &  beans.
What Omega 3 supplement would you recommend I give him that contains no nasty addidives or allergenes? He can' t swallow tablets / capsules yet &  dislikes the syrup forms. I' m at my witt' s end.

You have a bit of a problem if your son will not take syrups or capsules.Bio-strath is very popular for children with problems in concentrating. It comes in syrup form which he may not like, but it does have a honey and malt flavour which he may take. Perhaps you could simply add the daily dose to a spoonful of apple sauce and give it to him like that.
