Q.

Omega 3 and probiotics

Dear Doc

I seems " fashionable"  to give babies omega 3 and probiotics these days. Are the benefits real or is it a media hype?

My daughter is 9 months, and drinks NAN HA (also eats fruit and veggies). Should I be giving her omega 3 and probiotics as well? Is there a risk of overdose?

Many thanks
Sam

Both Omega3 and probiotics have their place when needed, but there is no need to give these products if your baby is healthy and is on a good formula and on an increasing variety of solid foods.
