occuring blocked nose

Good morning!
27/01/11 i took my 22month old to doc as he has a constant blocked nose and cough. She diagnosed him with ear infection and sinusitus. Gave antibiotic (sandox) for the ear infection and Deselex and Allegex for the sinisitus. finished the course of antibiotic and still continuing giving him the sinus meds, but on Friday he started again now with a snotty nose, the mucus is rather green, and sleeps so restless cos of this now and now started coughing again. I even put colbas drops on his pillow to help with the congestion but it doesnt help much. Question, do i take him back to doc to get antibiotic to clear up nose or do i just continue with the meds and give mucospect? Or could the constant blocked nose be something else?

Your son of 22 months probably does not have any sinuses yet so he is unlikely to have sinusitis. He may well have enlarged and infected adenoids. He should be seen by an ENT specialist. In the meantime keep his nose clear by using saline nose drops or spray. Salex or Sterimar are very effective if used regularly.
