Q.

NSAID whilst breastfeeding

Is there a Non steroidal Anti-inflammatory that is safe to take whilst breestfeeding. My son is 18 months old and very healthy. I have an injury to my ankle (posterior tibilais tendon)

All NSAIDs pass into breastmilk but only in small amounts usually not considered to be harmful to the infant. Some manufacturers recommend avoidance of their products. Ibuprofen appears to be fairly safe. To really be completely safe it would be best to avoid all NSAIDs while breast feeding
