Q.

not sleeping at night

I have a 21 month old who wakes up at night often or for long periods of time, for instance he will wake up at two in the mornings and go back to sleep at five. I do the normal routine like bathing him before bed etc, when he was younger I always thought that is was because of him teething but he has all his teeth now &  still not sleeping at night. I even try and keep him awake during the day when he is not at the daycare. He is otherwise a normal child.

Obviously you cannot be up all night or for long periods at night with your son who is not sleeping. You can try giving him a natural hormonal medicine called Melatonin. The normal dose is 3 milligrams given 1 hour before your child goes to sleep at night. After a few nights he should get into a better sleeping routine.
