Q.

not interested in bottle

my daughter will be 10 months on the 29-07 and she refuses to drink her bottles. Every bottle we have to force down her and she will sometimes sit on the same bottle for like 2 hours before finishing it and they are only 120ml bottles. She has never liked her bottle much but things are worse then ever and im really worried becuase i know there formula is suppose to be the most important thing in there diet for the first year. What must i do?should i go and see my pead about this or should i change her formula?im lost for ideas. Even when she wakes up in the morning after a full nights sleep she is not interested in her bottle she takes 2 sips and wont drink anymore! please help with advice!

There must be some reason for your baby to drink so little formula. She may be feeling full so it is important to give her formula before her solid food. Another possibility may be a technical reason such as the kind of teat on her bottle or the size of the hole in the teat.

i have given her bottle before her food and she is still not interested. There is no bottle that she is interested in. And i have changed her teat to the larger one suitable for 6-24 months old. If she was feeling full fair enough but shouldnt she want her morning bottle then?is changing her formula an option and will it maybe make a diffrence to this matter? I know docs are no normally very keen to change formulas but at this point i will try anything. And i tried the sippy cup that a lady advised yesterday and she was just as uninterested no diffrence what so ever.

Hi Jes,

Why don' t you try a sippy cup? and if she doesn' t like it maybe you can change the formula
