Q.

Not chewing

Hi Doctor

My daughter is 13 months old and she just will not chew. She has 8 teeth and if you give her pasta she swallows it as it is. The next thing because she swallows all this food without chewing she vomits. I have no choice but to give her Purity but I know that chewing is very important for speech development.

What shall I do to help her chew?

This is very common and your baby still wants her food to be very well mashed and soft. This is a temporary stage and she will get more used to more coarse food with time. In the meantime give her soft foods.
