Q.

Nose bleeds &  tempreture

Hi

My 2 year old often has nose bleeds which are quite gushy but short. She has also recently started waking at night with very high tempretures however during the day she seems fine. When these happen at night she wakes up and screams for up to an hour solid before she settles back to sleep - I usually give her a dose of ponstan. Can these two issues be related and is it common in little ones, what could be the possible causes?

Paediatrician

Your little girl must be having pain at night. The most likely cause is an ear infection. I presume that she also has enlarged adenoids. She should see your paediatrician first but will probably need referral to an ENT specialist.
