Nose Bleed

Hi dr

My 3year old daugther often wakes up with a nose bleed - sometimes it all dried up and sometime it is still " fresh" . It often stops after a while and then out of the blue starts again. this has started recently.

Is this something to be worried about? I took her to my GP the last time and they couldnt pick up anything. someone mentioned something about her being too warm at night and she now sleep with very light bedding.

Should I take her to the GP again or should we see a specialist. if yes, what type of specialist one? thanks

Nose bleeds can be problem in young children. When nose bleeds are happening so often in a child it may be due to bleeding from a small area in the lining of the nose known as Little's Area. If this is the case then it may be necessary to cauterise this spot. It would be best to get the opinion of an ENT specialist.
