Night terrors are very common at this age. The actual cause is unknown and does not appear to be due to any unhappy experience or unhappiness at a creche for example. This is a passing phase. You need to go to your son when he has a night terror and wakes up. Comfort him for a while and he will soon fall asleep again. He will have no memory of th night terror when he wakes up in the morning.
