Q.

Nido 1+ or cow' s milk

My son will be turning 11 months on 1 July, he is currently on NAN HA, as we switched him over about 4 months ago, but recently his allergies are much better, and he is also not allergic to cow' s milk as we thought. When can I switch him over to NIDO 1, should I wait until 1 year, or can I switch him over now, as the NAN HA is not a very filling milk, his stomach growls at night, but he eats his cereal or vegetables. Just wondering if he might still be hungry cause of the milk? He would wake up about 4 times at night, just screaming for no reason, with his stomach growling, and he is also very windy at night. During the day he is just fine. What would be best, to wait until 1 year, or can I switch him now? Please advise! What would be best, NIDO 1 or cow' s milk?

Your son does not appear to be allergic to milk any more but still has symptoms which are suggestive of lactose intolerance. Try him on a lactose free formula for a few days to see if he is less windy and his stomach is no longer so noisy. Please let me know if he is better on the lactose free formula as that will determine which milk he will need when he is 12 months old.
