Q.

Nexium

Hi Doctors, My baby is 12 weeks old, he is on Novalac AR and was put on Nexium 2 days ago. I have been giving him Gavsicon morning and night, will the nexium replace what the gaviscon is doing and how long will it take for the nexium to start working? should i then stop the gaviscon?

Nexiam is a medicine used to reduce stomach acid. It will take the place of the Gaviscon which can now be stopped. Nexiam starts to work very quickly so once your baby has been on Nexiam for a day it is already helping to reduce your baby's stomach acid.
