newborn wont settle

i have 4 week old. She is most of the time a very good sleeper. i feed her and put her back in cot and she goes to sleep but everyday for the past 2weeks she goes through a patch where she wont settle. she wakes up as soon as i put her down in her cot and starts crying, looks hungry so i put her back on my breast to feed or try giving her a dummy but nothing seems to work. Today she hasnt settled since 9am and it is now 3pm and i still cant put her back in her cot to sleep. Really dont know what to do, cant help thinking that maybe im doing something wrong.
please could you give me some advice.

This sounds like your baby has a reflux problem. She is uncomfortable when she lies down due to stomach acid refuxing up into the lower part of her oesophagus [ the food pipe] and causing her discomfort. Please ask your paediatrician to see her.
