Newborn - Products to put on babys bum?

I would like to know what products (if any) should be put on baby' s bum during EVERY nappy change (bum cream, vaseline, baby powder). As I understand, it is not always necessary to apply such products as it can also irritate the baby' s skin.

If baby suffers from nappy rash, I plan to use Fissan paste. But this will not be used after every nappy change (only when there' s a rash).

You certainly do not need to use a cream after every nappy change. Clean your baby's nappy area with the special wipes. If you need to use a cream then Fissan is perfectly acceptable.

I found that the creams build up. I use baby oil on my son' s bum and his skin is beautiful soft. I apply it after every nappy change - I' m so scared of nappy rash. A nurse at the hospital told me to use it and I' m very happy with the oil.

Good luck

I have seen with my son hat the Vaseline seems prevent the nappy from adsorbing all it can. The Bum creams are not just for when the baby have a rash it is to prevent a rash
