I am not happy with the fact that your son is hardly eating,is losing weight and has a bad cough. He may have more than just a bad virus and should be tested for TB.He should be seen by a paediatrician. If you cannot afford treatment please take him to see a paediatrician at your nearest state hospital which has a paediatric department.

Is it a wet cough?. If your baby has a wet cough may be he has a nasal drip which result in the wet cough. If this is the case I would suggest that you invest in a nebuliser &  saline. Tell them at the chemist that the saline you need is for the nebuliser. This takes approx 10 min. Once you are done with this, pat his back &  both sides of his rib cage five - ten minutes. This will help to loosen the phlem. If you are not sure how to do this, take him to a physio they can do it for you. I would suggest also you buy a multi vitamin for example: vydalin or viral guard. Hope this will help.

Perhaps you should find another doctor who is more interested in helping your child.

Firstly, you need to find out what is wrong with him so that it can be treated.

When you feel sick, you don''t really feel like eating. Try and keep fluids down and see what you can interest him in eating.

If a chid is underweight it is of concern. Its not a problem to be below the 50th percentile - half of all children have to be otherwise it wouldn''t be the 50th percentile. Height and weight should match though. If he is underweight, then it is a problem.
