Nasonex -confused please help

Dear Doc.
Sorry but now I' m a bit confused. Here' s a brief history. Our baby started having cold symptoms i.e. blocked and runny nose. I got some Salex at the pharmacy and we used that. We then took him to his doc a week and a half later when nothing seemed to be changing and he was then put on Iliadin and Salex again. The symptoms persisted for another two weeks and eventually almost a month, our doc then prescribed Betnesol. Another week passed, things seemed better, then worsened again. I then took him to his paediatrician who then said that a month is a bit long for a cold to persist, he put baby back on to Betnesol. This helped for a while then the symptoms returned. Then back to the paediatrician who said the symptoms may be due to something else like a nasal allergy manifesting itself. He then put baby on Allecet and Nasonex. It seems to be helping, although baby still experiences congestion from time to time.
You however told me that at 6 (now 7) months old, it is unlikely that baby has a nasal allergy and that Nasonex is unsuitable for a baby this young. I' m worried now. What do you suggest my next step should be? I don' t want to keep giving him something that can harm him and I' m sick of this back and forth with no results.

What you need and this needs to be done soon is to get a proper diagnosis of your baby's nose problem.Your young baby has had 2 courses of Betnesol which is a powerful cortisone. Now without any tests being done to show that your baby is indeed allergic (or not allergic) he is on another cortisone nasal treatment (Nasonex). Your baby needs to be tested for allergies and a proper diagnosis made. He could have a non-allergic problem such as enlarged adenoids. He should be seen by a paediatric allergist.
