This sounds like a candida infection. Give your son a probiotic such as Reuteri or Probiflora for 10 days. Continue with the Daktarin cream for his nappy rash. Also give him Nystatin oral solution 1ml 4 times a day for 5 days. The oral herpes rash usually lasts for about 10 days in adults.

Hi Gina,

My son had a bad nappy rash, whilst teething. I tried all the creams possible and ended up using good old fashioned Vaseline with Maizena cornflour. I put the Maizena into a spice shaker bottle and powdered him with this after putting on the Vaseline. The rash cleared up by the next nappy change.

Hope you come right.
