Q.

Nap times

Good day!

I know each child is different, but what is the average amount of hours a 14month old should sleep during the day? My baby boy has moved from 2 naps to one now and he sleeps on an average only 2hrs, when he was taking 2 naps a day, it totald to 3hrs, 1.5 each.

Every child is an individual and there is no definite answer to your question. Many babies of this age seem to need less sleep during the day than others of the same age. They often turn out to be rather intelligent children.

toddlers 12months-3years require between 12-14hrs sleep a day. Allow for an hr either way of this too as each childs needs are different.

2004 national sleep foundation: 12-17months, 60% require 1 nap, 40% require two naps a day
30% require 1-2hr sleep 52% require 2-3hrs, the difference is made up either side of these hrs.
