Your nanny is undergoing treatment for TB but there is a chance that she may still be infectious at this stage. Your baby has been immunised against TB but this protection may not be sufficient if he/she is close contact with a person with TB. Your baby should have a test done by your paediatrician or local clinic to see whether he/she has any signs of TB occuring. The whole family should now be tested for TB as well. This is terribly hard on your nanny and she must be desperate having both TB and HIV, but with treatment she will recover from the TB and her HIV can also be treated if this is necessary.Try and find out she has responded to treatment for her TB and is now regarded as being non-infectious.
