Could you please explain to me if lactose free milk formula can cause an allergic or intollerant reaction in a toddler? If a child is intollerant to dairy will they be able to use lactose free milk? If so, do you know if ricemilk formula is available in RSA?

Lactose free formula can certainly still cause an allergic reaction in a child who is allergic to cow's milk. The protein part of the lactose free formula is the same as any other formula, but the lactose which is the milk sugar has been reduced or removed.NAN HA is a formula for milk allergic children but only for mild to moderate milk allergy. An extensively modified formula is Similac alimentum and this is for most milk allergic babies. I do not know of a rice formula that is available in SA, but some of out forum members may know more about this.
