My 1 yo molar teething child

Dear Paed

I have written to you a number of times regarding the molar teething, as my son is really struggling. After 6 weeks, they still are not out, and the little guys is really suffering. We, his parents, ofcourse are also suffering as we don''t sleep when he doesn''t sleep. What is your recommendation regarding analgesic use for such a long period? this mommy (3 months pregnant just too add to the problem) is absolutely exhausted and really needs some sleep. I only give him Vidol, Empaped, Ponstan or Stopayne at intervals (not every night) but it doesn''t always work. What am I to do?? Please help?

I am very much against giving your baby son an analgesic which contains codeine such as the Stopayne.Apply a little Teejel to his gums at least twice daily concentrating on the areas where the molars are coming through.Only use a safe analgesic such as the Empaped 125 suppository if required or Panado or Calpol Syrups.
