Mucus in baby

Hi there, my 11 week old baby has had problems with mucus in her nose and throat since she was a few weeks old. She was on NAN 1 and we changed to NAN HA which has lessened the mucus but not stopped it completely.

I give her a salt/bicarb/water solution twice a day with a small dropper which I squirt up each nostril 4 or 5 times each side. I do this with her lying on her side. Is this safe? Someone said the pressure might be harmful.

Your advice would be appreciate. Thank you, Rachael

You are treating your baby's blocked nose correctly.Treating her nose twice daily is enough. You only need to use one or two drops in each of her nostrils. It will help to use a nasal suction device as well to help to clear the mucous from her nose [ask your pharmacist].
