The safety of Mucospect has not been tested in children under two years. In spite of this Mucospect is considered to be a safe medicine which is available without a prescription. It is effective in reducing mucous in children's chests and making it easier to cough up mucous that was previously thick and sticky. The dose for a baby of less than 12 months is 1.25ml twice daily.
