Mosi bites

Hi all, I have a 3 yr old and he was bitten by a mosquito on his leg, 3 days later I notice red blotched all over his body and back of his neck. I have been giving him Allergex, both the syrup and ointment and nothing seems to help. He sweats a lot at night and it itches. can you please suggest something for him.

Thank you all.

Your son is allergic to mosquito bites. Give him an effective and safe antihistamine to clear up this rash. Allecet syrup 5 ml once daily is recommended. Once the rash has cleared up you can stop the Allecet. Take precautions against mosquitoes in his bedroom such as using Peaceful Sleep.

Hi Zaza,

I have the same problem with my 3 year old. The mozzies seem to love young blood! I was asked if my child had chicken pox, as the spots were so bad.

I have found that Calamine lotion works well. It stops the itching and the swelling and reddness goes down. I put an ear bud into the bottle and dab it onto the spots. By the end of the day, the spots are almost gone.

Hope this helps.
