Q.

MORE MILK

HOW DO I GET MY BABY TO INCREASE HIS MILK INTAKE? HE IS 6 MONTHS OLD AND ON SOLIDS BUT EVEN BEFORE HE STARTED SOLIDS HE WOULD NOT DRINK HIS REQUIRED AMOUNT. FROM A BOTTLE OF 200MLS , HE WOULD DRINK ONLY A 100MLS FIRST AND DRINK THE REST LATER. HE WEIGHS 6.5 KG AND I DO NOT FORCE FEED IF HE REFUSES. HE HAS BEEN ON VIDAYLIN BUT IT ONLY SUPPRESSES THE APPETITE FURTHER. IS IT JUST THAT HE IS ONE OF THOSE BABIES WITH A SMALL APPETITE COS HE STOPS WHEN HE IS FULL.

The average weight for a 6 month baby boy is just under 8kg. Your son's weight is well below this at 6.5kg.Does he have a blocked nose or any other obvious reason why he is not feeding well?He must be offered his formula first before any solids are given. It may be that for some reason his formula makes him feel full so and then he does not drink enough of this formula. It may be worthwhile trying another formula such as NAN2,NAN Pelargon or Lactogen2.
