Q.

Molar teething for more than a month now?

Dear Doc

My13 month old son has been teething with this molars for more than a month now. The paed saw him about 5 weeks ago, and confirmed that all 4 molars were coming out at the same time. Since then, the gums have remained swollen, jelly-like and painful, but not one of the 4 molars have erupted through the gums yet. Does that sound normal?

This is normal with molars which can take quite a while to come through.

It''s really difficult, I used ponstan and the Ashton& parsons teething powders.

I also used Stopayne, although I know it''s not recommended under 2years. But 2ml before bedtime does wonders!

Hi Mo

How did you manage her pain? I feel as though I''m making a a druggie out of my son. Trying to alternate meds (Vidol, Ponstan, Empaped, Stopayne).

Yes, same happened with my daughter. Hers took 1,5 months before the first one appeared. And 2,5months in total for all four. Good luck!
