Q.

Milk allergy

Our first grandchild in due at the end of Dec. My daughter-in-law has opted to breast feed. She is lactose intolerant and also suffers from allergies. My son was also very allergic as a baby, and had to go onto soya milk. I am just curious to know your opinion on this, and also what milk is the best for allergy babies. I would not interfere, but am curious about this.

Your daughter in law is strongly advised to breast feed her baby. In rare cases babies may be intolerant to the lactose in breast milk, but as protection against and prevention of allergic conditions in infants, breast feeding is the best way to go.
