Q.

MENINGITIS VACCINE FOR 5-6 YR OLD KIDS

PSE HELP DOC, I M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT D NEWSPAPER ARTICLE THAT STATES ALL KIDS SHOULD RECEIVE D ABOVE VACCINE. IS IT COMPULSORY AND TO WHAT AGE GROUP? IN DURBAN WHERE CAN OUR KIDS GET IT? ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS? SHOULD WE ALL BE CONCERNED?

I Gave my kids the prevenar innoculation when it became available just over 2 years ago, my son was nearly nine and my daughter was 6 weeks old. You can get it from your clinic or paediatrician if he does innoculations.
