Meningitis and Epilepsy

My son was diagnosed with Meningitis 2 years ago (5 years at the time). He had the "  friendly Meningitis"  - no reason to worry. He could go home after 12 days in hospital, but he was almost paralyzed, had trouble eating, speaking and had severe pain from head to toe. Could not touch him without hurting him. After 1 week we took him to another doc and he was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome. 19 months after GBS onset he was diagnosed with Photosensitive Epilepsy. Was wondering if there is any relation between Meningitis and Epilepsy? According to GBS specialist there is no relation between GBS and Epilepsy.

There is usually no relationship between GBS and epilepsy. Meningitis may in some cases be followed by the onset of epilepsy.
