Melatonin for a 3yr old

My son is 3.5yrs, attends creche during the day, and used to be asleep by 8pm in evenings. It has been increasingly hard to get him to fall asleep in the nighttimes. Usually over an hour. He isnt stimulated too much, but he is very hyper till bedtime. He has been suffering from night terrors as well and his sleep is very broken and restless causing an unsettled child the next day to wake up. Someone suggested I introduce him to melatonin and use chamomile tea? I seriously need help on this please? Thank You

Melatonin is a natural hormone in the body.Melatonin may help your son, but it has not been tested for safety in young children. To date no unwanted side effects have been reported when using melatonin in children. The dose is one 3mg tablet of Melatonin half an hour before bedtime.

Remember to give it at the same time every night, and also that they pretty much keel over about 15 minutes after taking it. I crsuh it and mic it with yoghurt or syrup as its quite bitter.
