Medicine and pregnancy

Is it safe to use Sandoz Cefpodoxime 100 when you have flu and your 15weeks pregnant??

Cefpodoxime is not known to be harmful during pregnany but it is always best to try to avoid medicines of any kind during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Why take an antibiotic for flu which is a viral infection and thus not senstive to antibiotics?
