Measles or ??

My son (4) had this rash that appeared on his tummy and upper arms last week wednesday. Round little bumps, not even in size (almost looks like Hand Foot &  mouth Disease but without the scabs). Very feverish, runny nose which I treated with Flusin.
We gave him 2.5ml deselex (as per the pharmasist advice) Rash disappeared approx 1/2 hour after antihistamine was given but appreared again the next day. The rash appears and disappears periodically without Deselex being given again. He isn''t allergic to anything, as we''ve had him tested. (RAST)

This weekend, the nose started running again (thick green/yellowish mucus), his throat is sore and he doesn''t want to eat or drink anything. He has a slight cough (I can hear the phlegm is there but it is not a contious cough yet)
Rash is back periodically, eyes are a bit droopy. Fever is back as well which I''m battling to manage.

PS: Rash as of this morning has now moved onto his back and the back of his legs whereas last week it was on the stomach and upper arms only.

Any advise on what this could be? I can only get an appointment with his pead on Wednesday.

It is difficult to be sure about your son's rash without being able to see him. You have given a good description of his rash.As the rash appeears to disappear once he is given an antihistamine it seems to be an allergic rash, possibly one called 'urticaria' or hives. This typically occurs in crops and appears and disappears over a period of about 4 days. Is your son on any medicines as one of the most common causes is an allergic reaction to an antibiotic such as penicillin or possibly an allergic reaction to a medicine given for fever such as Stopayne? Continue to give him the Deselex syrup once daily.
