Your son may not have had measles at 8 months but rather an illness which closely mimics measles called 'baby measles' or Roseola. After that he would have received two doses of the measles vaccine at 9 and 18 months. This will prevent him getting measles. Although his symptoms now could be due to measles this is very unlikely and he does not have the typical measles rash.He may just have a bad cold now.
