Q.

Malaria in newborn

I would like to know about prophylaxis for malaria in a baby of 3 months old. The area(Kruger National Park) is currently rated as low incidence of malaria. Any advice?

There are no antimalarials for a baby of this age.The World Health Organisation advises against taking babies and young children into malarial areas even if the risk is low. If you really need to go to the KNP then you should use anti-mosquito measures and your baby must sleep under a mosquito net.
