Lump in 5 year old breast

My daughter is turning 5 in November and last week we discovered a lump in her breast. I took her to our GP who treated it with antibiotics, the lump did not reduce in size so I went back to her. She referred me to a peadiatrician whom I' m going to see on Friday. Can you pleas give your opinion on what this could possibly be as I am very worried. Could it be cancer at this age? Thank you

This is not cancer. The lump is probably an early sign of puberty. As your daughter is only 5 years old she is too young to be showing any sign of puberty now.She will need some tests to be done by the by the paediatrician. The GP should not have given her antibiotics.
