Low muscle tone ???

Good Day

Hope you could help or advice me on this.
My little boy turned 4 today,he has been in creche for 2 years already. Where he learnt lots of things like sharing , how to play with other , how to use the toilet and eat by himself...... all the usual stuff. BUT......
As far as my hubby is concerned , he is not learning enough , as he has NOW only started ,to be able to write his name.
If i remember correctly our daughter was more advanced at 4 than Nicky is now, she turned 9 this year.
When my son was 8 weeks old , the paed said he suffered from LOW MUSCLE TONE and he had to go to physio.

We have applied to a "  pre grade R "  school and they accepted him but his creche teacher said that we should rush him. She suggests that he says with her another year and then only we send him to the pre school. What do you think, should i leave him in the creche ,for another year ?

Also his speech is not VERY clear , and i don' t know if it related to the low muscle tone. Do you think we should look at taking him to a speech therapist ? Sometimes we don' t even understand what he is saying (ONLY SOMETIMES)?

Your son should definitely spend another year in the creche so that he can become a bit more mature. If you really suspect that he has low muscle tone then he should be assessed by an occupational therapist for this. His speech is not realated to 'low muscle tone' and he should be seen by a speech therapist as well.
