Q.

Low muscle tone

Hi,

I' m confused about Low muscle tone.....
My son, now 7, has recently been diagnosed as having low muscle tone. As a baby, he did everything earlier than most children like walking at 8 months etc...
He has always been extremely agile and has exceptional balance.
Is this typical? Do I take him to OT for this or are there other exercise programmes that are better?
Help!!!!

I am always doubtful about this diagnosis of low muscle tone in a healthy little boy of 7 years. Your son also seems to be good at sport and is very agile. If you have any doubt yourself about the diagnosis an OT is the best person to see.
