It seems that your little daughter has an illness called herpes stomatitis. This is a viral infection which causes painful ulcers and sores in the mouth. The illness can last for longer than 10 days. As a result of the painful mouth sores children do not eat and often stop drinking as well. They may become dehydrated. It is essential for your baby to be seen by a doctor or nurse as soon as possible as she may need to be given extra fluids through a drip.
