Loose Stools Again

Hi Doc
I wanted to know my 11 month old had diarehea last week and you advised that it was caused by the antibiotic that he was on. I was also advised by his pead that I should change his milk to lactose free. I did give him a course oh Nan Lactose free milk for 5 days these diarehea stopped and his stools were normal. I begin giving him Nan 2 again from Sunday and this morning he had loose stools again. What is the cause of this ? Could he be lactose intolarable? What should I do?

I am giving him Reuteri drops as you recommend. Also the inside of his ears are very dry. The dry skin peeling. I am using baby oil but still dry.

Please help....

Also you are doing a great job. Helping us parents so promtly is much appreciated.

Thank you, it is my pleasure to be able to help you.Your baby has definite lactose intolerance now. This is usually a temporary problem and is very common after a bout of diarrhoea in infants. Keep him on the NAN LF for at least one month.
Be careful what you put in your baby's ears. Do not use Baby oil in his ears. Speak to your pharmacist about this problem.
