Long life milk

Dear Doc, My son will be 2 next month. He''s currently drinking Parmalat First growth. He drinks a litre per day and is costs R15.00 a litre. I would like to know if I can change to Long life milk instead. Is he driking too much milk. How can I get him to drink less or to stop him from drinking bottlle. Tx for always giving such good advice.

At 2 years your son will need only 2 to 3 cups of milk per day.Give him other fluids to drink instead of milk. It would be best to give him regular full cream cows milk, but if it is easier for you he can have the fullcream long life milk at his age.

Is long life milk healthy for 7-12 yr olds ? Does it contain all the goodness of natural milk which our boy needs ?

Tip.... Go to a Spar (believe it or not but they are cheaper) and buy a 6 pack of the milk, it works out to about R10.85 per liter. I buy it for my 17 months old son and have priced around

The First Growht Milk is cows milk which has had various vitamins and nutrients added to it.
If you change to fresh or long life milk, you will need to start giving a multivitamin.

If you are worried about how much mlk he is drinking, then offer him less. Just put a bit less into each bottle or cup. If you are warming it up, give it to him cold instead. I think they are supposed to drink less than a litre in a day because otherwise they are filling tummy with milk instead of solids.
