LO wants to much milk

Hello Doctor!
My 1 year old wants so much milk...
We had her at the pead last week because of a cough and runny nose and the pead said that to much milk can cause it.
And that at her age she should only have 600ml a day.
The last couple of nights I give her a big bottle at bed time, 250ml, of milk with horlicks, because at night she does not eat good... But as soon as the bottle is finished she start screaming... She does not take a dummy anymore.... If the milk is finished I just give her water...
She is on cows milk...
I send one bottle of milk and rooibos tea and milk to school with her and she gets another milk bottle if I get up at 4h30-5h00.

Why would she scream like that?
And more importantly, how much milk is to much?
And what else can I give her??

Your baby's fluid requirements are 120ml of fluid for every kilogram she weighs per day at her age. So 600ml is very little. She certainly has a big bottle to drink at night and there is no need to add Horlicks as well. Other fluids she can have include rooibos, water and dilute fruit juice.A recent study in Australia failed to show that milk causes excessive amounts of mucous in children.
