Q.

lisp

Hi Doc
What can i do for my daughter' s lisp ?
At first it was cute and i did think it was a problem. Now she is turning 8 and seems to pose a lot of anguish for her. It seems as if its getting more pronounced if that is possible. She seems to have supersonic hearing and when she was small it became quite a problem as she feared all noise even the flushing of the loo so I had her hearing tested and apparently the one small bone in the inner ear was slanting down and they seemed to think that was part of the problem. Now i wonder if the two are related ? Is it possible ? Any advice ?? Thank you.

Your daughter's lisp is not due to her over sensitive hearing. She should see a speech therapist who will assist her greatly.
