Q.

|LEGPAINS IN 2 YEAR OLD

My son of 23 months complain of pain in his lower legs. This seems to be especially so on a day when he ran around a lot. My husband seems to think that this is growing pains but I thought they started much later. Should I get worried? He weights 16kg and is 86cm tall.

Also he seems to be a late talker, when should I worry?

Paediatrician

It does seem as if your son has growing pains, but he is indeed young for this to happen. If the pains become very frequent and seem to worry him a lot it would be best just to ask your paediatrician to see him. Many little boys are late with their talking. There is no need to be concerned until your son is 3 years old. If he is not talking by then he will need to see a speech therapist. You must be sure that he can hear well.
