I do not have to tell you than being left handed is not uncommon. About 10 % of the population is left handed. Left handedness is thought to start during pregnancy when the baby is being formd.Recently a gene for left handedness has been found so it does run in families. Left handed people often are high achievers such as President Obama. Many tools and devices do not really suit left handers. A special scissors is a good start. Later on she may need a special mouse when she uses a computer but that is some time away still.

I''m left handed and 28 years old.

My parents did buy me a left-handed scissor but I cut with my right hand. But most things I do, I do left handed. I also eat left handed.

I think the best is to just leave your child and let her develop on her own. Her body will tell her what she must do left handed and what right handed.

Buy her a scissor for left-handed people but she must try a normal one as well and see which one works for her.

The only thing I always struggled with is dancing and trying to play a guitar. I dance left when everyone else goes right and the guitar also did not work. Ha ha! But nothing serious.

Also I passed both my degrees cum laude, so a lot of people say that left handed people are intelligent. (maybe this will make you feel better!)
