Q.

Leaking navel

HI Doc,

my sons 7 months has been having a leaking navel..its not watery but if we do not apply Fucidin it comes out and gets crumly when dry.

Our paed said it shoudl go away soon, but it hasn' t..its been more than 4 months now..but he shows no sign of pain.

so is the Fucidin any good..or is the an underlying problem here?

This should not be happening in a baby of 7 months. Your baby may have an infection of his umbilicus or there may be a condition called a granuloma of his navel which needs to be cauterised. You should see your paediatrician again and insist that this problem be treated.
