Q.

Lazy Baby

My baby will be 9 months old next week. She is a very lazy baby and just sits all day. She started sitting from 4.5 months and I think we neglected her tummy time too much! From 7 months we actively starting giving her more tummy time (which she hates) and now that she can roll, she doesn’ t stay on her tummy. All she does is SIT, she wont crawl (or attempt to move at all) and she wont stand. If I try to get her to stand she folds her legs underneath herself as though she is sitting. & #61516 . What can I please do to get her more mobile?

Babies do not usually start crawling until they are about 10 months and they stand at about 12 months on average. There is no need to worry too much at this stage. Your baby certainly sat early as most babies can only sit unsupported at about 6 months. Try to get her to creep or crawl to you. Hold her favourite toy a few metres away from her and try to get her to move across to fetch the toy. Your baby may skip crawling completely and simply start pulling herself up and then start walking at 12 or 13 months.
